  Wristbands are encircling strips that are worn on the wrist or lower forearm. The phrase can refer to a bracelet-like band like that of a wristwatch, a cuff or other component of a garment that covers the wrist, or decorative or useful bands worn on the wrist for a variety of reasons.  Wristbands are frequently worn and utilized in the same way that event passes, such as lanyards, are to provide information or enable people admission to events. These wristbands are formed of plastic loops that wrap around the wearer's wrist and are used for identification (for example, demonstrating the wearer's authorization to be at a location). The sweatband is another form of a wristband that is typically constructed of a towel-like terrycloth material.
